So I eventually did it! The big move from Wales to England happened 3 weeks ago. I have been itching to move back to my home town for a while, so when the opportunity arose of course I grabbed it with both hands.
The cats were very good. Transporting 4 cats 100 miles isn’t fun, but they all coped relatively well. I wouldn’t do it again in a hurry!
And of course it was so close to Christmas. But I have now got the perfect present. I am home!

30 Day Song Challenge
Day 6 already!
A Song That Reminds You Of Somewhere
The only problem I had with this is finding the artist! I had no clue who sang it.
This song reminds me of when I worked at Matalan. It was always playing. I worked a lot of hours a week and at one point did 42 hours, though my contract was for 8 hours.
To me it will always be the song that reminds me of Matalan!

And so onto Day 5!
A Song That Reminds You Of Someone
I had no hesitation with this, I was just crossing my fingers You Tube had a version somewhere and they did.
I’m sure I’ve said previously I was brought up on 60′s music. Not that I mind, there were some great songs that were made.
My dad was a band freak, so he mainly played 60′s bands. Especially if they were Manchester or Liverpool bands.
Anyway, back to the song.
Every Sunday since I’ve been little, we have always gone to Grandma and Grandads for Sunday lunch. It was just one of those rituals.
Gran used to make so much food! So much so every Sunday after lunch Grandad would go to bed and sleep for a few hours.
We grandchildren were allowed to wake him up at 6pm.
We used to sing this song to him (I’m sure he could have slapped us really!) except we changed the words from Anna to Grandad.
I loved those Sundays!

And so onto Day 4.
A Song That Makes You Sad
This one was relatively easy, music makes me happy. However a couple of songs make me sad and I’ll explain why.
I had 2 songs to choose between. One brings back memories of Hillsborough and the Liverpool FC fans who lost their lives. The one I chose however brings back the haunting memories of the Ethiopian Famine of 1984. I was a young teenager then and those images will haunt me forever.
The cars – Drive

And so onto Day 3.
A Song That Makes You Happy
This was quite tough for me as there are tons of songs that make me happy for different reasons, however there is one that does make me happy full stop.
I remember this one being released, hearing it and thinking ‘wow’.
It’s a jaunty little number, and features a very young Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) on the bass guitar.
I have tons of fantastic memories around the time this was released so definitely one that gets me smiling.
A random bit of info is that I eventually got all this bands back catalogue of singles and albums. I became a huge fan.
Such a pity they were a 3 year project.
The Housemartins – Happy Hour
Thanks for the memories guys!

Day 2 of the 30 Day Song Challenge.
Your Least Favourite Song
This one was quite difficult as I grew up in the 80′s and there were lots of contenders! However I decided to go for something more modern. Believe me, there are plenty of monstrosities hitting our charts these days that just make my ears bleed. This one in particular is a result of The X Factor. She should have been booted from the series weeks before she eventually did, and no she didn’t win it (thank goodness). That didn’t stop her getting a record deal. Mainly because of her mentor ‘knowing and possibly manipulating’ certain people.
So join me in the ‘ear bleed’ of the year….

30 Day Song Challenge
This has been done many times I know, but it’s something I’ve never done.
I thought I’d give it a go here.
Day 1 – Your Favourite Song
Extremely difficult to choose. I love music. All kinds of music. I can even read music.
My favourite genre is Rock music.
I was brought up with music from the 60′s even though I was born in 1971.
So I suppose it’s no surprise to see this one as my most favourite song. Ever.
John Lennon – Imagine.
Lyrically beautiful, the opening bars still bring goosebumps!

New Computer
Absence makes the heart grow fonder…. well, for some maybe but my time away from the internet has been fun. rather than fire up google chrome and hit the Facebook bookmark tab I’ve had to live with internet using my iphone. My desktop was not receiving wifi for some strange reason. My mobile phone gets free unlimited 3g internet, but it’s slow as anything.
So, to cut a long story short, I got a laptop. Brand new, decent specs, and it connects to my wifi no problem! I’ve had my desktop for a while so maybe it’s on it’s last legs. It’s taking some getting used to is this laptop. The keyboard is slightly different, I’ve had to buy a mouse for it as i’m a complete learner with a touch pad.
I’ve missed all the Cats on Tuesday postings so it looks like I’ll be busy for some time playing catch up!
Off to do just that xx
Cats On Tuesday
As I always read the lovely Gattina‘s blog every Tuesday (well, I do actually check more than Tuesday just in case she’s done another post) I decided to do my own Cats On Tuesday post.
I have been blessed with having been owned by the most gorgeous creatures ever created. They all have their unique personalities.
I have also had the misfortune and heartbreak of losing 2 at young ages through illness. Maybe I could share their tales with you sometime, but right now I want to introduce you to my 4 little monsters! As it’s my first Cats On Tuesday blog it’s only right you meet them.
Dudie
Our oldest cat who we thought was male when we got her! She’s 9 years old.
Very vocal, doesn’t like visitors to the house, gets on ok with the rest of the cats to a point.
I had her on a whim, little did I know the rest of the litter and the mummy cat were going to be drowned or I’d have taken them all. So sad.

Mitty
Mitty is 8 years old. He was my sisters cat originally but she didn’t want him any more.
Mitty loves all creatures! He loves all cats, dogs etc. He thinks he’s the mummy cat to all new kittens we have had.
Very affectionate, loves to sit on your knee, especially if you’re wearing black clothing. (He likes to share his white fur)

Jake
Jake is about 3 years old. We got Jake just after Ruby died (I’ll explain her story soon, but not today). I had always wanted a grey tabby and when the young girl from down the street knocked on the door and asked if I wanted him I just had to have him.
Jake is the naughty one. He is also quite grumpy. He hates any change (he will go into a mood if you change your bedding, or move the furniture) and he doesn’t really ‘get on’ with new additions to the family (sometimes he doesn’t get on with us!).

Kitty
We got Kitty on Christmas Eve 2010. He’s not 1 year old yet (but he is the biggest of all the cats). Kitty is friendly but extremely timid with strangers and strange noises. Kitty needs to go on a diet as he is too fat, so it will make for some interesting reading while doing Cats on Tuesday!
Now that you’ve met my brood I’m off to visit all your feline beauties.
Thank you for reading and I hope you’ll come again next Tuesday.
